Two things:
1. Since it’s on a rail, I imagine it will run smoother than a bus on the road, so passengers can go up and downstairs pretty steadily.
2. Have you been to China? Hahaha. There is no politeness in getting to your seats or any sort of organization. People push and shove and pack like sardines - it’s the normal flow of things - but they’re extremely efficient about it. So I don’t see any of that being a problem here.
China to build ginormous buses that cars can drive under — Engadget
Interesting, though I wonder what this top-level-only design will do to schedules. I imagine it will take longer to get each rider, or even a group of riders, to their seats versus your standard-issue bus. Then again, this design shouldn’t impede traffic, so maybe it’s a wash or even a positive gain. I’m down for anything that makes public transit more accessible, pervasive, and look cooler.
